Your Instructor
Tiffani and Livingstone Knowles are a father-daughter writing and course creation team.
Tiffani is a native of Miami, Florida, a journalist and a professor of communication at Barry University. She began her career in journalism in 2000 with The Miami Herald. As a print journalist, she covered metro news, education, the arts, special interest, and news in the city of Miami Lakes. It was there that she developed her passion for accuracy and integrity while under the tutelage of Pulitzer-prize winning journalists. Since then, she has worked as a coordinating producer for a youth television show, a radio personality and station manager, a voiceover artist for clients like Merriam-Webster, CROCS, CNN and Discovery Channel and a college professor. She holds a bachelor's degree in broadcast communication from Barry University in Miami and a master's degree in Arts and Humanities Education from New York University. She completed a journalism intensive through American University’s Washington Semester program in 2003 and an education and social reform program through NYU’s Study Abroad course in South Africa in 2005.
Livingstone is a native of Nassau, Bahamas. He worked in the travel industry for more than 46 years, starting with the airlines in his native Bahamas. He migrated to the United States in 1968 and settled in Miami, Florida. From 1974 until he retired in 2011, he was employed with Greyhound Lines in the Miami, Florida region in various capacities from ticket agent to bus station manager then North Miami franchisee. He helped thousands of down-on-their luck travelers passing through his station and dozens of immigrants to receive gainful employment and a path to permanent residency then naturalized citizenship in the U.S.
